Sai Baba of Shirdi

Aarti Sai Baba

Traditional aarti of Shirdi Sai Baba, composed by Das Ganu Maharaj (early 20th century, public domain)

The beloved aarti of Shirdi Sai Baba, the saint of Maharashtra venerated across faiths. Das Ganu Maharaj's composition praises Baba as the tender guardian who gave sight to the blind, sons to the barren, and speech to the mute. His teaching: "Shraddha Saburi" — faith and patience — and "Sabka Malik Ek", the Lord of all is One.

āratī sāī bābā, saumya jaya jaya sāī bābā | bhakta vatsala dātā, yuga yuga pālana kartā ||

Aarti Sai Baba, saumya jai jai Sai Baba | bhakta vatsal data, yug yug palan karta ||

Aarti of Sai Baba, gentle and glorious — victory, victory to Sai Baba. Tender to devotees, the giver of all, sustainer through age after age.

jākī kṛpā paṃgu parvata laṃghe, andhe ko aṃkhiyāṃ mile | bāṃjhana putra diyā, mūka ko vāṇī die, sāīṃ kī kṛpā aisī ||

Jaki kripa pangu parvat langhe, andhe ko ankhiyan mile | banjhan putr diya, muk ko vani die, Sain ki kripa aisi ||

By his grace the lame cross mountains; the blind receive sight. He gave sons to the barren, speech to the mute — such is the grace of Sai.

mātā pitā tuma hī ho, saba dhana tuma ho mere | śiraḍī vāle sāīṃ, dara para āye haiṃ tere ||

Mata pita tum hi ho, sab dhan tum ho mere | Shirdi wale Sain, dar par aye hain tere ||

You alone are my mother and father; you are all the wealth I have. O Shirdi Wale Sai, I have come to your door.

dūdha meṃ śarkarā milāve, śraddhā saburī rakhvāve | sabakā mālika eka, eka sāī ko jāno ||

Dudh mein shakara milave, shraddha saburi rakhwave | sabka malik ek, ek Sai ko jano ||

He blends sugar into milk; he instils faith and patience. The lord of all is one — know only Sai as the one.

āo āo sāīṃ bābā, āratī utāreṃ | sabakī bigaṛī banāo, bhaktoṃ kī lāja rakho ||

Ao ao Sai Baba, aarti utaren | sabki bigdi banao, bhakton ki laj rakho ||

Come, come, Sai Baba — let us offer this aarti. Mend what is broken for all; protect the honour of your devotees.

sāīṃ bābā kī āratī, jo koī nara gāve | kahata dāsa gaṇu, manavāṃchita phala pāve ||

Sai Baba ki aarti, jo koi nar gave | kahat Das Ganu, manvanchit phal pave ||

Whoever sings this aarti of Sai Baba — says Das Ganu — shall receive the fruit of their heart's desire.
