The Mulank or birth number is calculated by reducing the day of birth to a single digit between one and nine. If you were born on a single-digit day (the 1st through the 9th), your Mulank is simply that day. If you were born on a two-digit day (the 10th through the 31st), you add the two digits together, reducing to a single digit if needed. Born on the 15th: 1 + 5 = 6, Mulank is 6. Born on the 28th: 2 + 8 = 10, 1 + 0 = 1, Mulank is 1. The dates for each Mulank are: 1 = born on 1, 10, 19, or 28; 2 = born on 2, 11, 20, or 29; 3 = born on 3, 12, 21, or 30; 4 = born on 4, 13, 22, or 31; 5 = born on 5, 14, or 23; 6 = born on 6, 15, or 24; 7 = born on 7, 16, or 25; 8 = born on 8, 17, or 26; 9 = born on 9, 18, or 27.

How to Calculate Your Bhagyank (Destiny Number)

The Bhagyank or destiny number is calculated by adding all the digits of the complete date of birth — day, month, and year — and reducing the total to a single digit. For example, if your date of birth is 15 August 1969, you add 1 + 5 + 0 + 8 + 1 + 9 + 6 + 9 = 39, then 3 + 9 = 12, then 1 + 2 = 3, giving a Bhagyank of 3 (ruled by Jupiter). How AdiVeda calculates these numbers

Two numbers are published on this site, and both are derived by the same reduction rule — add the digits, and keep adding until a single digit between 1 and 9 remains.

• Mulank (birth number) — the day of the month of birth only, reduced. The month and year are not used. Example: 28 → 2+8 = 10 → 1+0 = 1.
• Bhagyank (destiny number) — every digit of the full date of birth, added and reduced. Example: 15 August 1969 → 1+5+0+8+1+9+6+9 = 39 → 3+9 = 12 → 1+2 = 3.

Master numbers are reduced, never preserved. An 11 becomes 2 and a 22 becomes 4. Some numerological systems hold 11 and 22 back as special; AdiVeda does not, and the tables on this site are built on that basis throughout.
