Festival Pooja Mantras (Diwali & Akshaya Tritiya)

Distinctive festival pooja mantras — the Lakshmi-Ganesha dhyana (Diwali), the Lakshmi-Narayana mantra, and the Akshaya Tritiya water-pot offering — per drikpanchang. (Other Diwali/Akshaya mantras duplicate the Ganesha, Lakshmi and Kubera collections.)

1. Lakshmi-Ganesha Dhyana (Diwali)

dantābhaye cakravarau dadhānaṃ karāgragaṃ svarṇaghaṭaṃ trinetram । / dhṛtābjayāliṅgitamabdhiputryā lakṣmīgaṇeśaṃ kanakābhamīḍe ॥

Dantabhaye Chakravarau Dadhanam Karagragam Svarnaghatam Trinetram Dhritabjayalingitamabdhiputrya Lakshmiganesham Kanakabhamide

I praise the golden-hued Lakshmi-Ganesha, three-eyed, bearing the tusk, the gesture of fearlessness, the discus and the boon, with a golden pot in his fore-hand, embraced by the ocean’s daughter (Lakshmi) who holds a lotus.

2. Lakshmi-Narayana Mantra

oṃ śrīlakṣmīnārāyaṇāya namaḥ ।

Om Shrilakshminarayanaya Namah

Om, salutations to Shri Lakshmi-Narayana.

This sacred water-pot, embodying Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, is given in charity; by this gift may the fathers and forefathers be satisfied. This pot — mixed with scented water and sesame, with food and the priestly fee — I offer to the ancestors; may the merit be inexhaustible. (The Akshaya Tritiya water-pot offering mantra.)
