A lion adorns You as Your mount, earrings grace You; the wives of the gods sing Your glory and dance to its rhythm.

In the Satya age, of beautiful form and nature, You were called Sati; born in the house of Himachala, absorbed in play with Your friends.

You tore apart Shumbha and Nishumbha, O dweller of Himachala; taking on a thousand-armed body, You held the discus in Your hand.

You alone are the form of creation, O Mother absorbed in the love of Shiva; Nandi and Bhringi take up the vina, and the whole world is enraptured.

The gods make their plea, and we bring You into our hearts; singing and clapping our hands, our minds steeped in Your colour.
