Cookie Policy
Last updated: [Date]
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, how Adiveda uses them on adiveda.in (the “Site”), and the choices you have. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. What is a cookie?
A “cookie” is a small text file that a website places on your device (computer, phone, tablet) when you visit. It lets the site remember your actions and preferences (such as login state, language, or font size) over time, so you do not have to re-enter them on every page.
“Similar technologies” includes pixel tags, web beacons, local storage, session storage, and software development kits (SDKs). For simplicity, this policy refers to all of them as “cookies”.
2. Categories of cookies we use
We classify cookies into four categories. You can manage your preferences for the optional categories at any time using the controls described in Section 5.
a. Strictly necessary cookies
These are essential for the Site to function. Without them, things like form submission, security checks, and load-balancing will not work. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be switched off.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|—|—|—|
| PHPSESSID | Maintains your server session | Session |
| wordpress_logged_in_ | Identifies you to wp-admin (only set when you log in) | 2 weeks |
| wp-settings- | Remembers your admin-screen preferences | 1 year |
| cookie_consent | Records the consent choices you have made for optional cookies | 12 months |
| XSRF-TOKEN / wp_lang | Cross-site request forgery protection / language | Session |
b. Functional cookies
These remember choices you make (such as your preferred language or whether you have dismissed a banner) and improve your experience. They are placed only with your consent (except where they are bundled with a “strictly necessary” function such as the consent banner itself).
c. Analytics cookies
These help us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it — which pages are most read, where people get stuck, how long they stay. We use:
| Provider | Cookies / storage | What it does |
|—|—|—|
| (e.g.) Google Analytics 4 | _ga, _ga_* | Site analytics — page views, sessions, geography (city-level), device class. IP-anonymised. |
| (e.g.) Plausible / Fathom (privacy-friendly alternative) | (no persistent cookies) | Aggregated analytics without storing personal identifiers. |
Analytics cookies are placed only with your consent in jurisdictions that require it (EEA, UK, Brazil, India under DPDP Act, etc.). In other regions they may be placed on the basis of legitimate interest unless you opt out.
d. Advertising and affiliate cookies
We do not display third-party display advertising on the Site. However, when you click an Amazon affiliate link, Amazon (and Amazon’s advertising partners) will place their own cookies on your device under their privacy and cookie policies — for example, to credit the sale to Adiveda’s Associates account and to show you contextually relevant Amazon content on Amazon’s own site.
We do not use re-targeting, behavioural ad networks, or social-media tracking pixels (such as the Facebook Pixel or LinkedIn Insight Tag) at this time. If we ever do, we will update this policy and ask for your fresh consent.
3. Third-party cookies
Some pages on the Site embed content from third parties — for example, YouTube videos, Google Calendar booking widgets, Razorpay or Stripe payment forms, or fonts loaded from a CDN. These third parties may place their own cookies. We do not control these cookies and you should consult the relevant third party’s cookie policy for full details:
- Google services — policies.google.com/technologies/cookies
- Amazon — amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=GVP69FUJ8RJG7XHK
- Razorpay — razorpay.com/privacy
- Stripe — stripe.com/cookie-settings
- YouTube — covered by the Google policy above
4. Cookie lifetime
Cookies are either:
- Session cookies — deleted automatically when you close your browser; or
- Persistent cookies — stored on your device for a defined period (anywhere from a few minutes to a few years) unless you delete them earlier.
The cookies we use are described above with their typical duration. Strictly necessary cookies expire on schedule; optional cookies expire no later than 12 months after they are set, and we will ask for fresh consent when needed.
5. How you can control cookies
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Cookie banner / preferences centre. When you first visit the Site you are shown a banner where you can accept or decline optional cookie categories. You can change your choices at any time by opening the cookie preferences link in the Site footer.
- Browser settings. All modern browsers let you view, manage, and delete cookies. Look for “Privacy and security” → “Cookies and site data” in your browser’s settings, or visit:
- Chrome: support.google.com/chrome
- Firefox: support.mozilla.org/firefox
- Safari: support.apple.com/safari
- Edge: support.microsoft.com/edge
- Do-Not-Track / Global Privacy Control. Where supported, we honour the Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) signal as an opt-out of analytics cookies.
- Mobile devices. iOS and Android let you reset advertising IDs and limit ad tracking from system settings.
Please note that if you disable strictly-necessary cookies, parts of the Site may stop working as intended (for example, you may not be able to log in or submit forms).
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time — for example, when we add or remove a service that uses cookies. The “Last updated” date above tells you when it was last revised. Where the change is material, we will refresh the consent banner so you can review your choices.
