The traditional close of the entire Saptashati-patha: nine verses begging the Mother's pardon for all faults of the recitation — syllables dropped, measures missed, devotion imperfect — so that by her grace alone the path stands complete (sānga).

1

oṁ aparādhaśataṁ kṛtvā jagadambeti coccaret ।
yāṁ gatiṁ samavāpnoti na tāṁ brahmādayaḥ surāḥ ॥ 1॥

om aparādhashatam kritvā jagadambeti chochcharet ।
yām gatim samavāpnoti na tām brahmādayah surāh ॥ 1॥

Om. He who, though he have committed a hundred offences, utters 'Jagadamba — Mother of the world' — attains a state that not Brahma nor the gods attain.

2

sāparādho'smi śaraṇaṁ prāptastvāṁ jagadambike ।
idānīmanukampyo'haṁ yathecchasi tathā kuru ॥ 2॥

sāparādho'smi sharanam prāptastvām jagadambike ।
idānīmanukampyo'ham yathechchhasi tathā kuru ॥ 2॥

Guilty as I am, O Mother of the world, I have come to you for refuge; now am I fit for your compassion — do with me as you will.

3

ajñānādvismṛterbhrāntyā yannyūnamadhikaṁ kṛtam ।
tatsarvaṁ kṣamyatāṁ devi prasīda parameśvari ॥ 3॥

agyānādvismriterbhrāntyā yannyūnamadhikam kritam ।
tatsarvam kshamyatām devi prasīda parameshvari ॥ 3॥

Whatever has been done amiss — too little or too much — through ignorance, forgetfulness or error: forgive it all, O Goddess; be gracious, O supreme Empress.

4

kāmeśvari jaganmātaḥ saccidānandavigrahe ।
gṛhāṇārcāmimāṁ prītyā prasīda parameśvari ॥ 4॥

kāmeshvari jaganmātah sachchidānandavigrahe ।
grihānārchāmimām prītyā prasīda parameshvari ॥ 4॥

O Kameshvari, Mother of the world, embodiment of being, consciousness and bliss — accept this worship of mine with love; be gracious, O supreme Empress.

5

sarvarūpamayī devī sarvaṁ devīmayaṁ jagat ।
ato'haṁ viśvarūpāṁ tvāṁ namāmi parameśvarīm ॥ 5॥

sarvarūpamayī devī sarvam devīmayam jagat ।
ato'ham vishvarūpām tvām namāmi parameshvarīm ॥ 5॥

The Goddess is formed of all forms, and all the world is formed of the Goddess; therefore I bow to you, the supreme Empress, whose form is the universe.

6

yadakṣaraṁ paribhraṣṭaṁ mātrāhīnañca yadbhavet ।
pūrṇaṁ bhavatu tat sarvaṁ tvatprasādānmaheśvari ॥ 6॥

yadaksharam paribhrashtam mātrāhīnancha yadbhavet ।
pūrnam bhavatu tat sarvam tvatprasādānmaheshvari ॥ 6॥

Whatever syllable has slipped away, and whatever has been left short of its measure — by your grace, O great Empress, may all of it be made whole.

7

yadatra pāṭhe jagadambike mayā
visargabindvakṣarahīnamīritam ।
tadastu sampūrṇatamaṁ prasādataḥ
saṅkalpasiddhiśca sadaiva jāyatām ॥ 7॥

yadatra pāthe jagadambike mayā
visargabindvaksharahīnamīritam ।
tadastu sampūrnatamam prasādatah
sankalpasiddhishcha sadaiva jāyatām ॥ 7॥

Whatever in this recitation, O Mother of the world, I have uttered wanting in visarga, in bindu or in syllable — by your grace may it become most complete, and may the fulfilment of my resolve ever come to be.

8

yanmātrābindubindudvitayapadapadadvandvavarṇādihīnaṁ
bhaktyābhaktyānupūrvaṁ prasabhakṛtivaśāt vyaktamavyaktamamba ।
mohādajñānato vā paṭhitamapaṭhitaṁ sāmprataṁ te stave'smin
tat sarvaṁ sāṅgamāstāṁ bhagavati varade tvatprasādāt prasīda ॥ 8॥

yanmātrābindubindudvitayapadapadadvandvavarnādihīnam
bhaktyābhaktyānupūrvam prasabhakritivashāt vyaktamavyaktamamba ।
mohādagyānato vā pathitamapathitam sāmpratam te stave'smin
tat sarvam sāngamāstām bhagavati varade tvatprasādāt prasīda ॥ 8॥

Whatever, O Mother, has been left wanting — in measure, in bindu, in the twofold bindu, in word, in paired words, in letter or in aught else; whether with devotion or without, by force of rash haste, plainly or obscurely; whatever, through delusion or ignorance, was read or left unread — in this hymn of yours, O blessed giver of boons, may all of it now stand complete in every limb, by your grace: be gracious.

9

prasīda bhagavatyamba prasīda bhaktavatsale ।
prasādaṁ kuru me devi durge devi namo'stu te ॥ 9॥

prasīda bhagavatyamba prasīda bhaktavatsale ।
prasādam kuru me devi durge devi namo'stu te ॥ 9॥

Be gracious, O blessed Mother; be gracious, O lover of your devotees; bestow your grace upon me, O Goddess: O Goddess Durga, salutation to you!

Samāpti
